Teacher Toolkit

Thank you for taking the time to educate your students and their families about battery recycling. We want you to know that participating in this program and using its supplementary materials is easy and can integrate seamlessly with your established teaching methods.

The Big Battery Rescue is more than just a live performance—it’s a year-long recycling challenge designed to educate and inspire students to take action. This program provides your school with:

  • A live-in-school educational comedy performed by professional actors.
  • A student workbook with engaging activities.
  • A battery recycling challenge, where students collect used batteries to be recycled.
  • Classroom recycling kits to make participation easy.
  • School fundraising opportunity to win prizes for your school’s efforts.
  • Through hands-on activities and ongoing engagement, this program helps students and whole school communities make a real impact in reducing battery waste.
Your Battery Recycling Buckets

While the live-in-school performance and educational resources teach your students about battery recycling, conservation and STEM, the free battery recycling kits provide the tools to take real action – and make a real, measurable difference towards diverting batteries from landfill both at school and home.

Your school will receive free battery recycling buckets for every classroom! Plus, during the school year a free collection service from an accredited recycler who will take away your school batteries to be recycled.

Your school effort will be measured and tracked so you can see the fantastic impact of your students and whole school community!

Every classroom will be asked to nominate student Battery Ambassadors, who will be tasked with measuring and emptying the battery contents into the school central battery bin.

Throughout the school year we will provide your school and classroom with exciting learning activities to engage your students in their effort, and to assist them in undertaking the challenge.
